Zero Kelvin

I had a couple of Blackbirds to loose so we drew up a small T1 Cruiser gang today with my alt in 0.0.

I had a Blackbird and was chosen to FC since it was me and another in fleet with working mics at first.

We started out getting nothing. Then we went over to Period Basis and started looking for a fight. After a while, a torpedo fitted Raven engaged our scout on a gate and we pounced. The raven went down pretty fast and we had drawn first blood!

Later, our scout reported a hostile Nomad on station besides a Harpy. Our scout got aggro from the Harpy and pointed the Nomad and in we went.

The nomad docked up but we got the little Harpy, no losses yet. Fate was smiling!

We then got a report on a hostile bubble a couple of jumps out from our home system so we started picking our way back from Period Basis.

A lonely, sniper fit apoc with fighters assigned tried to take down an anchored bubble at a gate but he safed up right before our scout could get a good warpin.

Nothing much happened until we almost were in our own constellation, a rapier suddenly aggressed our scout and again, our T1 Cruiser gang took no prisoners! We were feeling AWESOME!

After this, our luck sort of ran out, we got word of gangs roaming and local spiked from 15 to 29. We docked up and took 15 min break. During this time, local spiked to about 50, talk about timing!

Undocking and heading back, our scout was tackled by yet another Rapier and again, our cruiser gang tore it apart.

After the last kill, we really wanted to get home, everyone felt that our luck was running out. Guess we were almost prophetic! This time we werent so lucky a bubbled gate, ten or so reds and I got the pod express back to home base.

Total tally for the op: 1 BS, 1 AF, 2 Recons killed and 1 Thorax, 1 Arbitrator, 1 Caracal and 1 Blackbird lost. A good day!

The Tash-murkon region has been very nice to us but now me and our CEO are thinking about moving to the other side of EVE. The staging point would be Lonetrek and I think I’ll move a clone to a system close by to see how the land lies there.

The point of the whole exercise is to rent some 0.0 space and try that line of life.

I think I’ll try to sneak out a covert ops or a recon to check what kind of space there is there.

I’ve been ratting quite a lot in Providence lately and I’ve made quite a lot of ISK. After the first killing spree I understood why they let people roam Providence, the rats are quite low in bounties and there are 0.0 ice, but only lowsec ore.

After almost filling the hold of my alt’s Badger Mark II, this Thorax comes out of nowhere and pops it. He didn’t get the pod and I could jump to hisec for another Badger and get the left-overs back.

It was no big loss, had he taken my T2-fitted Brutix, I would have been more irritated.

It’s a risky business ratting in 0.0 but the rewards are nicer too and I had been waiting for this loss.

A corpmate of mine didn’t do that well today, a gang of pirates came by his system and took down his T2-fitted Raven. That stung quite a lot and he started looking for hisec agents again…
