Carrier lost, experience earnt
by Nathan on Jan.21, 2010, under EVE
Never move ships when you’re in a hurry. Especially not into unknown systems with kickout stations.
Yesterday I decided to gung ho it and move my carrier. Was a little tired, on my way to bed and set up the cyno too close to station which meant i bounced 24km off the blasted thing. It’s exciting to do 1+km/s with a carrier lol.
A Rapier uncloaks on the undock (guess they camp it since its a kickout) and proceeds to light a cyno. Ganktime commences with 10 or so carriers that neut the snot out of me and reduce my wreck to a smoldering heap.
Good times.
Well, as long as I learn from this and:
- Dont move stuff before going to bed, do it with a clear mind
- Wait for other alliance and get input and experienced help with moving the fkn carrier, even though we become red in current location
- Didnt want that carrier anyways
Aired my Carrier last night
by Nathan on May.29, 2009, under EVE
Nothing big, but last night I made my first ever captial ship cyno jump! It was quite the rush since I was docked in a station that I thought was a kick out station.
A corpmate of my alt’s lit a cyno i a closeby low sec system and I undocked. 20 looong seconds went by until I could choose jump to in the cyno.
I landed perfectly and could dock without incident. Talk about anti climax!
Archon Carrier ordered
by Nathan on Feb.03, 2009, under EVE
I ordered a carrier the other day. A game friend of ours build capitals and always offer competitive prices, this time it was an Archon Carrier that will be delivered within 20 days.
Now I have the delicate task of fitting my Carrier in the best way.
I’m thinking a standard tanked carrier, with some selfdefence and a good portion of drones. Nothing expensive, mostly T2 but T1 rigs because I’m a cheap bastard expecting to loose it.
Full selfsustained tank of almost 3000 DPS and about 700 DPS with fighters deployed. I realise that I need to train Advaned Drone Interfacing to be able to use two Drone Control Units for the two extra fighters but that is already in the skill plan.
Any thoughts?
And also, does anyone insure their logistics capitals?
Finally!

09:45:16 Notify Training of the skill Amarr Carrier lvl 1 has been completed.
I can finally fly an Archon, but I will get one in about 40 days since I’m second in line for one at the local arms dealer.
Now I haveto continue with the support skills:
- Jump Drive Operation V
- Jump Drive Calibration IV
- Jump Fuel Conservation IV
- Capital Remote Armor Repair
- Fighters IV
- Advanced Drone Interface
- Amarr Carrier IV
I think I’ll be done in the end of April.
Halfway house?
by Nathan on Dec.15, 2008, under EVE
Last week, I bought a new skill. Capital ships and it was the most expensive thing that I ever bought in EVE and now I’m very poor.
Yesterday, I trained Capital Ships and now I’m one big step closer to sitting in that Archon. Immediately, I started on Amarr Battleship V but it’s 36 days away. Even so, that gives me about a month to rat together the 450 M ISK that is needed for the Amarr Carrier skill.
After that I haveto start finetuning my jump drive skills and the RR-capabilities of my carrier to be.
I have Cybernetics II, I’m thinking of skilling to Cybernetics IV and buying +4 implants for one of my clones. That would save more than a day on Amarr Battleship V alone and about 7 days in total on my carrier skillplan.
