Ugly ducklings
by Nathan on Mar.22, 2010, under EVE
As you’ve might read, we joined an alliance in deep 0.0 after christmas and it’s been a blast really.
I’ve started thinking about how to recruit and how to attract good people that we can hatch into harpies rather than fleeing sparrows.
What was your reasoning behind the (if any) requirements you have for pilots joining your corp? SP requirement? Ship requirements? Killboard success? Presence?
Small corp, big alliance - keeping your identity
by Nathan on Mar.16, 2010, under EVE
How do you as a smaller entity keep your identity in a bigger alliance? We’re a small-ish corp that have really become tightnit since moving out into 0.0.
The alliance of course want pilots that are more loyal to the alliance of course, since its better to have the good pilots jump corp when a corp leaves than having good ones leave for being more loyal to the corp.
We’re sort of lucky, only one corp in the alliance speaking our language and we’ve been flying toghether for years. But how about newer recruits?
How do you establish the members as “good” members that are willing to take a beating for the corp? How do you reward these members? Good fights? ISK?
I’m not done figuring this out, our corp went from 25 active members to 13 active incl alts when we moved out to 0.0. Talk about cold bath!
We have restarted our recruiting and will try to get more members that enjoy the challenge of 0.0 in the corp.
A new Home
by Nathan on Feb.05, 2010, under EVE
We swapped alliancesa couple of weeks ago. It was one of the bigger projects in game that I have had the pleasure of running and keeping everything running including the members happy was a real chore.
Now, we are a few days into the move to our 0.0-home and its nice to see people starting to crysallize and be pushed into taking more responsibility.
The corp is growing - need a future
by Nathan on Oct.22, 2008, under EVE
Me and my CEO were discussing the future of the corp. I want to aim for lowsec/0.0 in the future, probably after Christmas or there abouts.
The plan that we hashed out was the following:
- Get hisec POS for BPO work, ME and PE research, Invention, Copying
- Finance BPO:s
- Start construction of ships
- Recruit up towards 30 members in total
- Train atleast two carrier pilots in corp
- Scout and approach alliance in 0.0 which need industrial capacity
We feel confident that if we can increase our industrial base, our incomes will increase and we can start things like ship funding and skill sponsoring.
More members
by Nathan on Oct.11, 2008, under EVE
The last weeks have been good, three new recruits joined the ranks of our proud corp. Today, me and our CEO discussed the future, both immediate and long term.
The long term goal is of course to either get a place in a 0.0 corp or to rent a space in 0.0. Pandemic legion and others offer space for cash.
The short term goal is to make the corp a lot of cash, probably via the BPO/C market, getting a few cruiser bpos and start building recons and HAC/HICs.
Second corp mining op finished
by Nathan on Aug.31, 2008, under EVE
Last night, we were three brave souls assembled in the hangars in our home system. I logged on in time and looked forward to an evening of renewed mining with almost the entire corp logged on.
Yesterday was not that day. I was alone until our CEO logged on about half an hour late, which he had flagged. The last member of the ruling triumvirate, our lawman, logged on about an hour late. By then, me and the CEO had picked a belt and started mining.
The mining went well anyhow, our CEO:s boost alt really made a difference and I hauled with the alt during the entire op.
Now we’re even closer to our goal, getting a corp freighter.
Good result from corp mining
by Nathan on Aug.20, 2008, under EVE
Last night we had our first corp op for the fall. I called together the forces as late as last thursday, late as usual and I was a little worried when I logged on about 16.30 EVE-time since there was noone else in corp logged on!
As soon as the clock struck 17, people started pouring in and we started getting in gear. About 17.30 we were vaccuming the asteroids in a belt.
There were four of us mining and my alt was emptying cans for about an hour and a half until the belt was completely empty, then we called it a night.
It felt really good to complete the op and the goal, having my corp mates participating!
Starting up common corp activities
by Nathan on Aug.18, 2008, under EVE
In our small corp, we’ve been lazy during the spring and this summer. We have all been doing our own thing and the corp have taken the taxes to pay for our offices.
At the end of summer, my intent was to stir some life into our small corp and have corp activities.
Today, we have our first common corp mining in a system around our HQ. Hopefully we can make a habit of them and get the corp some well needed funds.
I’ll snap some pictures and post them here later this week.
Missions and management
by Nathan on Jul.24, 2008, under EVE
A friend and me started a corp just before christmas when our old corp fell apart. We recruited another old corp member and then we were a truimvirate of leaders. The main goal we had was to have fun and make good ISK.
Feeling a bit lonely, I started recruiting this February and my CEO and I decided that about ten members would be manageable come summer. We’ve had a slow but good growth and now we’re up to seven which I find quite acceptable.
We’ve had a fellow idling in our channel for quite some time, talking about joining but she always had an excuse.
This week we had a talk and she hade decided that she wanted to join which I was very pleased to hear!
Many of our member have started running missions and I have given som tips on tanking and general mission running. Helped a fellow corp member with a mission the other day and had another tag along shooting biggers stuff when I ran a couple of fourth level agent missions. Quite fun!
Now I’m skilling drone skills to get me those tech two Ogres that everyone is talking about, after that I’m setting the Drone Interfacing skill running to get the last twenty percent of damage output.
